Linde is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to join the team in Stewartsville, New Jersey.

Job Responsibilities:
• Provide management direction and professional development for three direct reports and ensure that adequate electrical engineering resource coverage is available for the needs of the RBU, for both direct operational support and projects
• Establish a culture of safety in working with regional plant maintenance managers, plant engineers, field operations and service providers in the execution of all aspects of the role requirements
• Input to and directly support the execution of the RBU electrical reliability program, including Supply and Cantarell
• Supports, evaluates and prioritizes improvement projects for electrical systems as part of the annual budget process
• Ensures day to day electrical troubleshooting support for electrical equipment and systems, including 138kV substations, High/Medium/Low voltage switchgear, Motor Control Centers, Variable Frequency Drives, Battery & UPS system, DCS & PLC Controls, large motors up to 55 MW, large power generators up to 100 MW, Excitation/generator controls, and reduced voltage motor starting equipment
• Participates in outage, major maintenance and capital spares planning by providing leadership in deciding scopes based on up to date condition information and history for equipment and systems
• Work with Field Operations and Supply Management to identify regional vendor support needs, and to ensure that all maintenance and supply agreements are properly managed to ensure maximum benefit
• Assesses the technical competency of contractors and service providers to ensure proper scope is assigned and expected quality is received
• Implements and supports regional training initiatives and develops/delivers local training materials as determined necessary by the RBU and or regional personnel
• Supports major unplanned events and ensures robust root cause analyses are completed, lessons shared and findings institutionalized to prevent reoccurrence
• Supports local and global geographies on emergent electrical issues and catastrophic failures
• Provides resources for the rectification of failed electrical equipment, including engineering management of change (EMOC) compliance, key decision making and determination of root cause failure. Provides electrical design contacts as needed for failure analysis and any needed electrical design analysis or redesign. Participate in failure analysis reporting.
• Participates on the global electrical peer team: contributing, translating and apply global best practice, lending support when needed, and benchmark performance of electrical equipment and systems both internally and externally.
• Participates in global expert user panels and maintains a network of best practice and service providers. Stays abreast of the latest equipment design, monitoring, and service trends to determine opportunities verse the existing electrical equipment portfolio. Provides business case justification and engineering solutions for such changes. Translates network knowledge into local application.
• Identify new and assess the effectiveness of electrically related CBM tools, techniques and practices
• Reviews electrically related CBM and reliability reports and data and agree specific actions, as indicated, with the Regional and Area Management teams. Ensures that through the condition reviews that any gaps found are appropriately addressed, needed inspections scheduled, and that equipment is operated within agreed limits.
• Provides proposal and re-life activity support by providing comprehensive electrical system equipment scope, budget and execution strategy input
• Represents the regions electrical reliability interests as the BU owner’s electrical engineer in the proposal and commercialization processes, including due diligence, scope/spares decisions, installation, execution strategies commissioning and new plant acceptance
• Supports contingency and reliability reviews and closure of action items for key tonnage locations
• Identifies and evaluates electrical obsolescence opportunities across the entire organization
• Drafts reliability and maintenance procedures for IMSS publication; reviews and approves the application of local equipment and system PM’s, work instructions, and related procedures
• Provides technical oversight and approval for the applicable aspects of Engineering Changes via the EMOC process
• Collaborates with the Reliability Engineering team to ensure that global best operating practices are identified and implemented

Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum 15 years experience (at least five years in an operations environment) in industrial process plant power distribution, including the design of sub stations, high voltage large motor start schemes, gas turbine generators, related controls and protection devices
• Strong technical background and troubleshooting experience in electrical short circuit analysis relay protection settings & coordination, power quality analysis, high voltage motor starting schemes and analysis, hazardous area classification and lightning protection.
• General expertise desirable in large high voltage motors and gas or steam driven power generation equipment including HRSG, and related control systems
• Senior line management experience of professional staff required
• Electrical engineering degree required. Professional qualifications and licensing required.
• Good knowledge of the National Electrical Code
• In depth-knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance techniques, including the use of computerized maintenance management systems to manage these processes
• Must have demonstrated experience implementing continuous improvement and process re-engineering in own and interdependent areas. Six Sigma qualification a plus.
